Courtney Luton has grown up as a part of the Central Florida Dance community. After graduating from Lake Mary High School, Courtney was a member of the University of Tennessee Dance Team, and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from UCF.

Ashton Antinazi- Senior Company Member

Ashton graduated from Georgia College and State University in May 2015 with a BA in History and a double minor in Dance and Spanish. She began dancing at the age of 3 and has received training in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, acrobatics, and modern from teachers such as Robert and Jennifer Mason, Tom Ralabate, Albert Cataffi, and Marcus Alford. She competed with the North Georgia Academy of Dance Elite Dancers for 13 years, where she won many awards including Miss Dance of Mid-South Dance Masters Ch. #41. With the NGAD Elite Dancers, she has been able to give back to the community through dance with many performances at local festivals and showcases. She was Lawrenceville’s Junior Miss for the Class of 2011 and received a Scholastics Scholarship at the state program. She has been a part of the DYWGA State Production Team for 2 years. During college she was inducted into Chi Tau Epsilon Dance Honorary and Alpha Psi Omega Theater Fraternity and has performed in multiple productions including Anything Goes, The Birds, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the annual GCSU Dance Minor Concert. She began teaching during her high school years and received her teaching certification in the areas of Tap and Modern from Dance Masters of America, Inc. in September of 2013. Her choreography on the NGAD Elite Dancers has won awards at regional level competitions.

 
 
 

Michele Boyd- Company Member

Michele Boyd is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer working in Orlando, Florida. She holds her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and her Master of Science in Performing Arts Management from Shenandoah Conservatory.

Michele is currently preparing to open SeaWorld's new summer spectacular, Electric Ocean, with Odd-O-T's Entertainment. She also performs with Universal Studios Florida as a dancer in the Superstar Parade. Michele dances with Emotions Dance Company, a contemporary company based out of Casselberry Florida. Michele has previously performed for Walt Disney World Resort, JoshuaLegg/DanceProjects, Cameron Dance Arts, and the Shenandoah Dance Ensemble.

An enthusiastic educator, Michele has taught dance throughout the east coast. She believes in developing well rounded dancers and teaches many disciplines including ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, and contemporary. Michele has previously taught at Urbanity Dance (Boston, MA), Rhythm N Motion (Martinsburg, WV), The Old Opera House (Charles Town, WV), Italia Performing Arts (Winchester, VA) and the South Shore YMCA (Hanover, MA). 

Aside from dance, Michele is an excellent candlepin bowler; she collects oversized coffee mugs; and she loves all things Disney. During the day, she works as a CA in a chiropractic office and she is passionate about helping people be their healthiest, happiest selves. She enjoys caramel lattes, the television show Friends, and the smell of the Florida air before sunrise.

Jessica Harris- Guest Artist

Jessica Harris was born and raised in Ormond Beach, Florida. She attended Father Lopez Catholic High School where she competed in national competitions with the Dancing Green Waves. After high school, Jessica attended Santa Fe College and began to get plugged into the dance community in Gainesville. After a year, she transferred to the University of Florida to pursue her BFA in Dance. At UF, Jessica trained not only in modern and ballet, but also in West African dance under the direction of Mohamed Dacosta. Other artists she has trained with include Kritsin O’Neal, David Dorfman, Tiffany Rynard, Tzveta Kassabova, and Orange Grove Dance. At Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Jessica grew an interest in Arts and Medicine.This interest prompted her to apply for and receive a scholarship to research the benefits of dance on recovering cancer patients. This opportunity has allowed her to work with multiple programs at the forefront of using dance and other arts as a form of recovery. Jessica plans to continue this research upon arriving to Orlando.

 
 
 

Michael James- Guest Artist

Michael James Lopez is a graduate from University of Central Florida and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a minor in Dance. In the two years that Michael has been dancing, he has performed in musicals such as West Side Story, Oklahoma, and most recently, Newsies. Additionally, he has danced in UCF’s Dance Concert, where he was a featured dancer. Michael is trained in Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Pointe, Acro, and Contemporary.

In his free time, Michael enjoys cooking and baking. His specialty is making vegan cakes and other various desserts. He has a passion for fitness and health and incorporates that into his art as well. Michael can be seen doing charity and other fundraising events throughout the year such as the Breast Cancer Run, and Love Orlando. 

Originally from Palmdale, California, he believes dance and performance can be a strong catalyst for social change and issue awareness.”

 
 
 

Lesli Irons- Guest Artist

Lesli Irons was born and raised in Naples, Florida where she began studying dance from a young age. During high school, Lesli studied classical ballet as she completed all of the ‘Royal Academy of Dance’ ballet examinations including her ’Solo Seal’ performance. She also had the opportunity to study pre-professionally with many dance companies including Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Lesli has won numerous competition dance titles, company scholarships, and awards for her choreography. Upon graduating high school; however, Lesli switched her focus over to visual arts and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a minor in Communications. While always continuing to dance recreationally, Lesli moved to Orlando and is excited to dive back into dance with Emotions Dance Company as a Guest Artist. She is also continuing her studies in hopes of obtaining a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy in the future.

 
 
 

Celina LaBat- Guest Artist

Celina LaBat grew up in Aurora, Illinois where she began dancing with the school dance team. She moved to Florida as a junior in high school, where she then began intensive dance training in ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop and acrobatics. She then continued her dance career as a dance major at the University of Iowa where she received her Bachelor of the Arts in dance. There she studied ballet, modern, improvisation, choreography and academic dance classes such as dance history, dance kinesiology and more. At the University of Iowa, she was also able to take class from guest artists/faculty members in West African dance, Gaga improvisational technique and other styles. She performed in various shows throughout her four years at the University as well as being a part of the touring group Dancers in Company. Upon completing her education and moving back to Florida, she has worked for the Walt Disney World Company as a character performer and had the privilege of being a part of various projects such as the ABC Christmas Special and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Time Parade. Celina is excited to begin a new dance adventure with Emotions Dance Company and share her passion with a new audience.

 
 
 

Sydney King- Guest Artist

Sydney has grown up in the Central Florida Dance community. Her career began at a young age of three in a simple tumble class. After her first couple of years, she then began her training in ballet and tap. Sydney competed for many years all over the state of Florida, winning many awards. She also performed at multiple Orlando Magic half-time shows during her senior year. After graduating from University High School, she began teaching ages 3-18.

Sarah Joy Stallsmith- Apprentice

Sarah Joy Stallsmith started dancing at a young age and continued her studies at Slippery Rock University, graduating with a BA in Dance in 2008. After moving to Baltimore, she began performing and choreographing professionally, working with The Collective Dance Company, Trajectory Dance Project and BlueShift Dance in the Baltimore and Washington, DC area. Sarah Joy also enjoys teaching
and has taught at various studios as well as in a public school setting. Now in Florida, Sarah Joy has continued collaborating on chorography projects with company members in Maryland. She is grateful for the opportunity to work with Emotions Dance Company!
