Emily Perkins was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She grew up primarily focusing on competitive gymnastics for 14 years at Wimbleton Gymnastics. She discovered later in her high school years that she had an even stronger passion for dance so she began taking classes at Bartlett Dance Factory and absolutely fell in love with ballet and pointe. By her senior year, she branched out to other dance styles such as jazz, modern, tap, hip-hop, adagio, and even baton. Emily went on to college at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville to study Theatre and Elementary Education and even played on the Women's Rugby Team at UT. Although she has taken different journeys throughout her years to get where she is today, Emily has found that dance is what gives her the most fulfillment and sense of purpose. Her dream is to become a stronger dancer and show that no matter what your passion in life is or how old you may think you are, it is never too late to pursue your dreams!
