Emotions Dance is seeking passionate, technically trained dancers (ages 18+) to join our professional contemporary company. Dancers will participate in a ballet barre warm-up, across-the-floor progressions, and a contemporary combination. Paid and apprentice positions available.

This is a class for anyone, especially those who think they have two left feet. With Larissa Humiston, founder of the nonprofit Emotions Dance Company, as your guide to getting into the groove, you’ll gain confidence for any social setting, from holiday parties to weddings.  

Learn to “find the beat,” understand some basic dance moves, and, most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Description

Join us for "Expression Through Movement," a transformative workshop led by Larissa Humiston, a licensed clinical social worker, therapist, and founder of the nonprofit Emotions Dance Company. 

This unique experience invites you to explore the deep connection between body, mind, and emotion in a supportive and nurturing environment. Through guided movement exercises, you’ll have the opportunity to express yourself authentically, release built-up tension, and cultivate emotional wellbeing. 

No dance or movement experience is required -- just an open heart and a willingness to connect. 

Program note: come dressed to move freely and easily and please bring your own water bottle. Chairs will also be provided for those who feel more comfortable sitting.

On September 21, 2024, National Dance Day Orlando is thrilled to again honor this free nationwide celebration of educational dance classes for all ages and levels of ability!

Since its inception, National Dance Day Orlando has grown tremendously; now offering multiple campus locations, free classes in a variety of dance and movement disciplines, showcases of Central Florida's professional dance companies, and an overall coming together of the community to celebrate each other and the art and spirit of dance.
