Our youth performance company consists of EDC II (ages 12-17) and our students enrolled in our pre-professional curriculum.
The Pre-Professional Program
Preparing your dancer
Emotions Dance Studio offers a pre-professional curriculum for the more serious dancer. The program is designed to offer technique, artistic development, and the tools needed to succeed in a college or arts program, as well as in the professional arts world. Dancers ages 7 and older are eligible for this program based on audition and/or director recommendation.
Dancers in this program are required to take classes in:
Dancers who participate in this program will have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year in parades, at festivals, and with our resident professional dance company, Emotions Dance Co. Dancers can also submit solos and/or duets to local and state competitions upon director approval.
Building Professional Dancers
Emotions Dance Studio is proud to offer EDC II, a youth performance program that allows dancers the opportunity to perform with Emotions Dance Company, the studio’s professional contemporary dance company, as well as other performance opportunities in the area. These dancers are also role models for the studio and assist in our classes as well as are active within the local community.
Dancers in this program are accepted on an audition basis and must be between 12-17 years of age. Dancers accepted into EDC II will be required to take the following dance curriculum:
2 ballet classes per week
one jazz class per week
one contemporary class per week
one additional technique class per week (acro and pointe are not included)
