Rosa Yancey is twenty one years old and originally from Newark, Delaware. At age three, Rosa began dancing in creative movement and has been dancing ever since. Rosa’s mother owns a performing arts school and has been Rosa’s dance teacher for almost all of her life, and is still very involved in her career. She trained Rosa up until it was time to send her away, and her first stop was Philadelphia, PA. Rosa danced with companies such as Eleone Connections Dance Company and Philadanco Second Company. She has also trained in Los Angeles at Debbie Allen Dance Academy’s Summer Intensive, and at Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Rosa has training in ballet, modern (Horton & Graham), jazz, pointe, contemporary, and hip hop. Rosa also has modeling, acting, and pageant experience, and has competed in the Miss Delaware 2013 pageant. Upon high school graduation, Rosa moved on to study as a dance major at Eastern University located in St. David’s, PA. Throughout college, Rosa was apart of the dance team and was very involved in all dance performances on campus. Rosa later relocated to Clermont FL with her mother, in hopes of continuing her dance career and taking it to the next level. Rosa is currently a part time dance instructor at Heidi’s Academy of the Performing Arts in Clermont, and is working hard to one day be able to run the studio herself. Rosa enjoys family, friends, shopping, and being silly! Rosa is very excited on her first professional gig, and becoming a new Emotions Dance Company Member.
