Emotions Dance Company is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded in August 2007 by Artistic Director and Choreographer, Larissa Humiston. Emotions Dance Company is one of the most diverse contemporary dance companies in Orlando. EDC is a professional contemporary dance company that focuses on social and environmental awareness through the art of dance. Voted Best Dance Company 2012 by the Daily City, the company emphasizes strong technical performances combined with passionate artistry. EDC also emphasizes the importance of artistic collaboration and the company works with many different artists in a variety of artistic mediums. Through inspiring performances, arts-education programs, and active community outreach the company touches thousands of people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds.

Contemporary dance is an all encompassing term to describe the dance of the times. What is happening right now. Contemporary dance fuses concepts and movements from jazz, modern, ballet, and lyrical dance disciplines and combines them in a way that is socially, culturally and emotionally relevant to the times we live in.
